PRISON MINISTRY TIMES

March 28, 2015 — Vancouver, Washington

On Saturday, March 28, 2015, Families on the Outside held their third annual EASTER PARTY at the Lighthouse Christian Church in Vancouver, Washington.

The Families on the Outside EASTER PARTY is a special gathering of many children and families who have a family member who is incarcerated, for the purpose of having FUN celebrating Easter!

This year the party kicked off with a delicious ham dinner with all the fixings, and plenty of desserts and other treats. The children painted Easter Eggs, made crafts with beads and many other fun things. Then they played GAMES such as Egg Relay, and won lots of prizes.

The highlight of the Easter Party was when the Easter Bunny joined the fun and each child had their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and family members.

It was a memorable time for all who attended — a time to forget the pain of imprisonment for a little while, and just be together as a family having a good time.

Families on the Outside is assisted by many volunteers, who work hard to decorate and  prepare the facility for the party, and who help to serve food, assist the children in crafts and games, and who also help clean up after the party is over.

Families on the Outside is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to serving the families of the incarcerated, who often struggle to adjust to home life with an important family member who is missing because of incarceration. The EASTER PARTY, an annual event, provides an opportunity for these children and family members to not only have a great time together, but also to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to share the love of Christ with one another.
