Adult Beyond the Walls
support groups

Families on the Outside hosts two support groups in Vancouver for family members who are dealing with frustrating and painful realities from incarceration. Many times people who have not been impacted by imprisonment do not understand the hurt, shame and challenges caused by being involved with a person in prison. The support groups offer a safe, non-judgmental place to share the fears and frustrations of living a life impacted

by incarceration. These groups are also a source of information on dealing with DOC (Department of Corrections), resources, and support while in the judicial process.  When you get involved with one of our support groups, it also allows you into a private Facebook page just for your group, where you can post struggles, fears and victories 24 hours a day. New friendships are often made, and group members find more helpful resources.

Within the group are others that are currently going through the same situation as you, or have been through it, but continue to come to help others. There is one group every week in two different locations in Vancouver, with more groups coming. If you would like more information about one of the groups, please contact us.
